Carpell Surfaces of Granby, Quebec, Canada is a winner of the 2019 Distinguished Outdoor Track Facility Award presented by the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA). Carpell Surfaces was recognized for its work on the athletics track at Varsity Stadium, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Presentation of award plaques was made at the ASBA Technical Meeting, recently held in Orlando, Florida. Project participants: Mondo USA; Sportsfields Specialities, Inc; MAPEI Corp.
The ASBA regroups builders and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities and presents awards each year to facilities built by members, that best exemplify construction excellence.
To be completed Spring 2120, this synthetic field will be able to accommodate some 1,000 soccer players from the Côte-de-Beaupré region and Île d'Orléans. Also, with the choice of a synthetic rather than a natural field, the playing season can be extended, starting earlier and finishing later, allowing for more matches. The 8 255 m2 surface comprises Xtreme Turf DX45 Filltech (Act Global), a ProPlay (Schmitz) shock pad, infill made of green recycled rubber, and is marked for 11 soccer and 7 soccer.
The newly renovated Saskatoon Field House now features a high performance Mondotrack WS (World Series) manufactured by Mondo and installed by Carpell Surfaces. Chosen as the Official Track for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, it is the world's most technologically advanced athletics track. The inauguration took place on October 15, 2019, in the presence of Charlie Clark, Mayor of Saskatoon, members of the community as well as special guests.
Carpell has completed yet another prestigious university project: the installation of a Mondo Super X 720 track at the Université de Sherbrooke. This facility meets IAAF (International Association of Athletic Federations) class 1 standards, the highest certification for athletic tracks. The inauguration was held September 16th in the presence of Isabelle Charest, Minister for Education, Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, and Member for Brome-Missisquoi, Deputy Mayor for the City of Sherbrooke, Danielle Berthold, and Rector Mr. Pierre Cossette, Université de Sherbrooke.
RBJ Schlegel Park, is a 16.8-hectare multi-use sports park located in Kitchener. As part of the city's multi-million project to improve leisure and sports facilities for the district, installations at the park will include two artificial turf fields, one natural turf field, a splash pad, playground and a cricket pitch. Carpell has completed the installation of the first of two soccer fields and work is in progress on the second.
President and founder of Carpell Surfaces Inc. Mr. Paul Caron is pleased to announce that Mr. François Faucher, CPA, CA. is joining his company.
Mr. Faucher's extensive experience in business spans more than twenty years, including a position as a senior executive at TD Insurance. Mr. Faucher will join Carpell's executive team, and he will be closely involved with the development and management of the company.
Carpell completed work in August upgrading the first of two sports fields at Bill Crothers Secondary School, an athletic-based school in the community of Unionville in Markham, Ontario. A Schmitz ProPlay shock pad system will ensure optimum comfort for the players and extend the life of the artificial turf Xtreme Turf DXF45. The new fields marked for soccer and football will be FIFA certified. An upgrade for the athletics track with an eco-friendly Stobitan SW surface is slated for 2020.
Halton Catholic District School Board continues to improve its school facilities and ensure the best quality possible for its sports fields. Carpell Surfaces has been mandated to supply and install high-performance, synthetic turf fields for three of the board's secondary schools: Notre-Dame CSS, Assumption CSS and Bishop P.F. Reding CSS. Each 10,200 square metre field, will be marked for soccer, football, and field hockey. They will be FIFA certified.
For the second phase of a two-part project, Carpell installed the artificial turf field beginning of 2019, installation of the brand new athletics track will soon be underway at the Timmins High and Vocational School. The 6-lane Stobitan SC track will meet IAAF standards and become the first of its kind in Timmins.
The new top of the line facility will allow the school to host regional and provincial track meets and soccer games: High School NEOAA Championships, NEOAA Central division track meets and OFSAA soccer.
The Rosemont drinking water reservoir, was built in the 1960s and decommissioned 20 years later. The reconstruction of the reservoir, pumping station, water supply tunnels, and reservoir's roof was completed in several phases over a period of five years.
Following extensive waterproofing work and drainage of the reservoir's roof, Carpell Surfaces is currently installing a Mondo Super X 720, international standards athletics track.
La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal welcomes North American athletes of all levels to an exciting new invitational track and field meet held July 31st to August 2nd at the Complexe Claude-Robillard in Montreal.
CarpellSurfaces has proudly joined as the presenting sponsor of La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal. Following the competitions, Paul Caron, President of Carpell Surfaces, awarded the athletes with bursaries.
Carpell's experienced installation crew is presently at work replacing the six-lane, 200-metre track at the Saskatoon Field House, a large indoor sports complex located next to the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Mondotrack/WS, a specially designed running track surfacing, will ensure optimal athletic performance for high-level competitions as well as provide an excellent track for speed walkers and joggers. GREENGUARD GOLD certified for better indoor air quality, it is 100% recyclable and IAAF certified.
Following the announcement in April, of the attribution of a contract by Sherbrooke University to install a Mondo Super X 720 track at the university's stadium, Carpell has now been entrusted by the City of Montreal with a similar project at Étienne-Desmarteau park. The new 8-lane, Mondo track will meet IAAF standards. We are pleased to be able to execute this top-level project.
Renowned Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario has selected Carpell as general contractor for the new synthetic, sports surfacing at the university's Tindall Field.
An Xtreme Turf DXF60/S23D pitch will serve for soccer and rugby and will be certified FIFA Quality and IRB World Rugby. An eco-friendly, Stobitan SW, 3-lane running track will surround the pitch. Once again, Carpell and a major Canadian university, join forces for an important project. Work commences August 2019.
Carpell has been selected as a subcontractor to supply and install the new synthetic sports surfaces at George Springate Center in Pierrefonds. The FIFA Quality, Xtreme Turf DX60 pitch will be marked for soccer and football. A blue, Stobitan SW athletics track will be lined 8-lanes. Carpell's team is enthusiastic about this project headed by NMP Golf Construction Inc. and is confident the outdoor sports complex will be ready to meet the needs of the borough by the end of July 2019.
543 athletes participated in the Regional Athletics Championships held at the Guillaume Leblanc Track this May. The facilty boasts a new, high-performance, Mondo athletics track installed by Carpell. The City of Sept-Îles invested more than two million dollars to completely rebuild the foundation, the surface of the track and the jump zones.
In order to offer athletes safe athletic facilities and to once again hold competitions in its stadium, the Université de Sherbrooke is currently renovating the athletics track. Carpell has been selected by the University to install a brand new Mondo Super X 720 surface, as well as removable synthetic turf end zones for the field inside of the track. Demolition work on the current track is currently underway and the project is expected to be completed by fall.
